Coach Ponio’s extensive baseball career started in Southern California and continues today in North Eastern Oklahoma. He grew up in SoCal and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1985 where he earned many accolades including the California Coca Cola Player of the Year (1983, 1984, 1985). He accepted a full scholarship to the University of Hawaii where he earned 1st team Freshman All American honors as a starting pitcher. He then played at Palomar Junior College where he earned 1st team PCAC as a pitcher and was drafted by the Oakland Athletics. He turned down professional baseball to accept a full scholarship at the University of Oklahoma where he pitched for two seasons in the Big 8 Conference. For the second time Mike was drafted this time by the Cincinnati Reds. After careful consideration, he chose to end his playing career. After graduation, Mike pursued a career in education. He taught and coached primarily in Oklahoma he found his true passion of youth baseball. In 2003, he founded the Oklahoma Cardinals, which today is known as OC BASEBALL. He has coached and mentored teams ranging eight through 14 years old with the goal of teaching structure and overall skills that provide the opportunity to play high school, college, and/or professional baseball. Mike has instructed for over 25 years and teaches not only baseball lessons, but also lessons in life.

Dustin West graduated from Collinsville High School in 2003. As a Junior, he played on the American Legion National Championship team as well as earned a spot on the Sunbelt Classic Team. He was also named to the Sooner State high school All Star NE region team, and was awarded MVP. Also, he played for the Tulsa Mack Truck Bulldogs where his team was runner up in the AABC Connie Mack World Series. After graduation, Dustin signed to play at Mid-America Christian University where he was a starting pitcher and 1st baseman. Once he completed his collegiate career, he began his youth and high school coaching career in 2007. To date, Dustin has coached and mentored several hundred baseball and softball athletes with ages ranging from six through high school.

Riley graduated from Jenks High School in 2012 where he played Trojan baseball throughout his high school years. His playing days completed, he quickly jumping into coaching and instructing at Perfect Practice. Riley started coaching with the Tide baseball Academy where he coached teams ranging in ages 8 to 14. Also, during these years he was an Assistant Baseball Coach at Jenks high School. His passion for growing his coaching game led him to coaching a show case team beginning in 2021. He has guided, mentored, and instructed players from hitting, pitching, general fielding, as well as running practices to prepare for a season.

Clay Sechrest graduated from Mounds High School in 2018. He started all four years in baseball and earned the Frisco Conference Player of the Year in 2016 and 2018. Additionally, he earned OSSAA 1st team All State as a senior at the catcher spot. After high school, Clay signed with Rose State University in Oklahoma City where he was a two year starter at catcher. He led the conference in fielding percentage in consecutive years. He played in the collegiate DBAT league (2018-2021) and was a member of the championship team in 2018. His playing days now complete, Clay is now coaching two OC BASEBALL teams and doing private lessons with the goal of teaching kids the fine art of catching as well as hitting, pitching, and general fielding. His love of the game is what drives him to mold the next generation of baseball players.

Josh graduated from Green Mountain High School in 2014 where he was a three year varsity starter. He was a member of the 2014 4A Colorado State Championship team. After graduation, Josh played in a powerhouse Southern California JUCO conference for Victor Valley College from 2014-2016 where he played catcher. From there, he continued his career at Fisher College in Boston, Massachusetts from 2017-2019 and graduated in 2020. His Head Coach was Malcolm Cepeda, son of MLB Hall of Fame Player Orlando Cepeda. During his playing days, he also volunteered for the Roberto Clemente Foundation. After graduation, he chose to move to Oklahoma to be near family. Currently, Josh coaches at Jenks High School where he is the Hitting Coach for the varsity team as well as Head Coach for the Freshman team. He is also a Head Coach for OC BASEBALL. His passion is to teach, develop, and prepare youth baseball and high school players to the next level. His areas of expertise include hitting, catching, and fielding.

Chandler graduated from Catoosa High School in 2019 where he was a three year starter on the varsity baseball team. He was named Team Captain his senior year and played SS, Third base, and Pitched. After graduation, Chandler played at Brookhaven Community College in Dallas, TX where he played Third base. His playing days were cut short by the Covid pandemic in 2020, but his passion to stay in the game lead him to join the Wolverines, an adult men’s league in the Tulsa area. His desire to “play ball” keeps him in the game he loves. He currently is working on his college degree, is a current instructor at Perfect Practice, and is a Head Coach for OC BASEBALL. He communicates really well with the kids on teaching the basics of baseball and builds to the next progression. He currently works with players in hitting, fielding, pitching, and some catching.

- A serious knee injury derailed his D1 collegiate career
- Earned “The Mule” at Union where the winner outperformed the baseball team in a grueling weight, speed and agility program

Zach graduated from Union High School in 2016 where he was a three year starter as an outfielder. His career ended due to a serious knee injury towards the end of his senior season. His playing days complete, he graduated from University of Oklahoma. Zach grew up in a baseball family and has a passion for the game tough to beat. He is a current Head Coach for OC BASEBALL and is an Instructor at Perfect Practice. He is a fantastic communicator with players of all ages whether a beginner or a next level player.

TJ graduated from Mounds High School in Oklahoma where he played football, basketball, and basketball for four years. He started all four years on the baseball team where he played multiple positions including second base, shortstop, third base, and pitcher. He earned All State as a Senior as well as All Conference three consecutive years. An injury derailed his collegiate baseball aspirations, but his love for the game is why he is involved in youth baseball. His enthusiasm to develop players from younger ages is what drives him. He looks forward to watching his players grow into high school ball and beyond. His areas of emphasis as an instructor include hitting, fielding, and pitching.

Kassidy graduated from Coweta High School in 2015 where she also played for Team Oklahoma during her high school years. She played at LaBette Community College where she played Catcher and Third Base from 2015-2017. She earned NJCAA Newcomer of the Year as a Freshman. In her second year her team placed 5th in the NCAA National Tournament. She played her last two years at Oklahoma Wesleyan where she played First Base and then Catcher her Senior season. Her playing days complete, she coaches a 10U team, Select Gold in Oklahoma. She is passionate about teaching and developing the next generation of softball players in the Tulsa Metropolitan Area as a way to give back what others gave her growing up. She is a diligent and structured instructor who communicates well across the board from younger to more experienced players. She stresses the importance of not having lessons interrupted from parents or family members. Please ask questions or communicate before or after the lesson. She will determine after an initial evaluation which areas need focus and will build a plan moving forward to improve overall skill set. It is important to understand Kassidy has control of the lesson.
